Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch Using Quasi-Oppositional Biogeography-Based Optimization
In this paper, quasi-oppositional biogeography based-optimization (QOBBO) for optimal reactive power dispatch (ORPD) is presented. The proposed methodology determines control variable settings such as generator terminal voltages, tap positions of the regulating transformer and the Var injection of the shunts compensator, for real power loss minimization in the transmission system. The algorithm...
متن کاملHybrid Particle Swarm Optimization Based Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch
In this paper, a two-phase hybrid particle swarm optimization (PSO) approach is used to solve optimal reactive power dispatch (ORPD) problem. In this hybrid approach, PSO is used to explore the optimal region and direct search is used as local optimization technique for finer convergence. The performance of the proposed hybrid approach is demonstrated with the IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 57-bus system...
متن کاملQuasi-oppositional differential evolution for optimal reactive power dispatch
This paper presents quasi-oppositional differential evolution to solve reactive power dispatch problem of a power system. Differential evolution (DE) is a population-based stochastic parallel search evolutionary algorithm. Quasi-oppositional differential evolution has been used here to improve the effectiveness and quality of the solution. The proposed quasi-oppositional differential evolution ...
متن کاملOptimal Reactive Power Dispatch Using Moth-Flame Optimization Algorithm
This paper describes a newly developed Moth-Flame optimization algorithm to deal with optimal reactive power dispatch problem. The prime intention of reactive power dispatch problem is to curtail the real power loss and control the bus voltages in power system network. The Moth-Flame algorithm is one of the most powerful and robust new global optimization algorithms in engineering. The primary ...
متن کاملOptimal Reactive Power Dispatch Using Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm
This paper proposes a procedure for solving the optimal reactive power dispatch (ORPD) problem using ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm. The objective of the ORPD is to minimize the transmission line losses under control and dependent variable constraints using proposed sensitivity parameters of reactive power that dependent on a modification of Fast Decoupled Power Flow (FDPF) model. The ...
